Xiangxi adds two 4A-level tourist attractions

On December 22, according to the announcement issued by the Hunan Provincial Scenic Area Quality Rating Committee, the Wulong Mountain Grand Canyon Scenic Area in Longshan County and the Gumiao River Grand Canyon Scenic Area in Huayuan County were designated as national 4A-level tourist attractions. The Wulong Mountain Grand Canyon Scenic Area is located at the border of Hunan, Hubei, and Chongqing provinces, 35 kilometers away from Longshan County. In the scenic area, there are abundant animal and plant resources, with 426 species of woody plants from 70 families, including 9 categories of national key protected plants, like Nanmu, Emmenopterys henryi, and Katsura trees. There are over 100 species of wild animals, with more than 10 species under national key protection, including giant salamanders, blindfish, wolffish, musk, and golden pheasants. The Gumiao River Grand Canyon Scenic Area, located about 3 kilometers southeast of Huayuan County, is an original ecological canyon integrating wonders, danger, and beauty. There are various waterfalls in different forms. On clear days, rainbows and multi-layered waterfalls can be seen.
